Ritual For Successful Reading

Psychic Powers Ointment is inspired by the mystical powers of the herbs and nature. It is designed to strengthen your psychic senses, to open the third eye and enhance receptive abilities.

I have used a combination of natural energies from the organic and locally harvested herbs, natural crystals and oils. The Psychic Powers Ointment was prepared on the full Moon and charged in accordance with the Cabot traditions to enhance individual psychic abilities. It was then hand poured into the glass vessels and sprinkled with the crushed amethyst. There are amethyst crystals inside.

Though this ointment contains energies in and of itself, it is far more effective when used in conjunction with a ritual. This is the energy used in herb magic: personal power and that which resides in plants. By combining these two forces, by moving them from within to without and by giving them purpose and direction, ointment magic creates needed change.

Divination Ritual

Having a ritual will set you up for a successful divination session. It is the repetition of the steps which creates favorable atmosphere and sets the mood to open your psychic abilities in a favorable environment. I must note here, that although it might seem like a marvelous idea to be able to walk around with your third eye open at all times, but it is not good. Walking around with the activated psychic senses may lead to physical exhaustion, suppress mood, distract from daily tasks and attract unwelcomed spirits. That said, it is wise to activate and deactivate them as needed.

Lean closer, here below I will share my personal divinatory ritual with you. If you already have an established ritual that works for you, use it. If you do not have it yet, feel free to adopt mine and experiment with customizing steps for your own ritual.

Step One. Create a sacred space. Locate a dedicated space for divinatory work. It is best if your space is quiet and private. When space is lacking, some people use their built-in closets for this purpose. Whatever you chose, it shall remain a persistent spot for your divination work. With time, your intuition will turn on unconsciously as you enter the space.

Remove all clatter from the space. Use clean and neat surface for the divination work.

Step Two. Select a table or a small altar for the readings. It could be an accent table, a small desk, kitchen table or a similar furniture. It is not recommended to lay your cards on the bed, couch or ground.

Step Three. Use an altar cloth. It will eventually absorb the energy you are invoking during readings and will feel familiar to you. Fold it and put away when not in use. You can purchase it from a local metaphysical shop or from the specialty store online. There is a wide variety available on Amazon starting at $5.99. Just search for the “altar cloth” and you will see. Or you may decide to make your own altar cloth. Whatever you do, enjoy the process and savor the moment of creation.

Step Four. Bring magical accessories to your sacred space. It can be candles, crystals, aroma oils, incenses, dry and fresh herbs, seasonal flowers, potted plants, feathers; all create the environment and charge your sacred space with the corresponding energies.

Here is the list of my personal favorite magical attributes:

• Candles. Most of the time I use a simple white candle or a tea candle when I travel to a remote location. You may use chose to use corresponding-colored candles.
• Crystals. A good size chunk of raw black tourmaline is a must have on my altar for the readings. It absorbs all that is incorrect and it is great for neutralizing fear, uncertainty, pain, panic or any other low vibrational energies which might be brought by the seeker to a reading. We do not want these energies interfere with the reading or enter our sacred space. I place it on my left-hand side of the table. To balance it out, I may place a rose quartz on the right-hand side to bring forth love-based vibrations; or aventurine for healing and fortune. My choice depends on the type of a reading I am doing.

My selenite wand serves as a tool which cuts the cords after the reading. I swipe it top to bottom across my all chakras to detach from seeker’s energy.

Other crystals I enjoy working with are labradorite, clear quartz and amethyst. These are favorable for enhancing psychic senses. Especially labradorite which is always present on my altar for divinations. You may find a crystal which works best for you personally. Work with it, meditate with it, sleep on it.

• Incenses. Two of my preferred incenses are sage and palo santo. You may find other incenses that work best for you.
• Psychic Power Ointment. I use the ointment in the beginning of divinatory work, for psychic dreaming and deep exploratory meditations. I apply a small amount to anoint the temples, middle of the forehead (third eye) and back of my neck prior to a reading, dream work or meditation.

I picked each element for the ointment based on my personal experience with it.

Rose. Its scent has long been enchanting. Roses are truthfully one of the most magical nature’s creations. A tea of rosebuds drunk before sleep induces prophetic dreams.

Mugwort. A pillow stuffed with mugwort and slept upon will produce prophetic dreams. It is also burned along with sandalwood or wormwood during scrying rituals, and a mugwort infusion is drunk before divination.

Lemongrass. It is a masculine herb ruled by the planet Mercury and the element of Air. It is used in an infusion to aid in developing psychic powers.

Bay.  Its masculine fire energy ruled by the Sun is favorable in clairvoyance and wisdom brews. Bay leaves are placed beneath the pillow to induce prophetic dreams, and are also burned to cause visions.

Yarrow. I fall under its spell as a little girl, when I picked yarrow flowers from the wild fields outside my city. Its feminine energy ruled by planet Venus and element of water is made into infusion and the resulting tea is drunk to improve psychic powers. The stems of this plant is used to create I-Ching stalks.

Star Anise.  Its seeds are burned as insense to increase psychic powers, and are also worn as beads for the same purpose.

Lily of the Valley. The aroma of these wild flowers is known to enhance mental powers and bring happiness.

Amethyst. This stone is steeped in ancient magic. It is, perhaps as popular today as it was two thousand years ago. Placed under pillow, amethyst produces a peaceful sleep and pleasant, healing, prophetic dreams. A piece set before a white candle and sandalwood insense is conductive to meditative practices. Use purple candle instead to sharpen the “sixth sense”. An amethyst placed on top of the tarot or oracle cards will heighten their inner energies. Since it is also a stone of wisdom, it allows the information received through the psychic mind to be appropriately utilized.

• Flowers. I like decorating my sacred space with fresh seasonal flowers, plants and herbs. Picking wild flowers from the forest have always been a pleasure of mine!
• Feathers. Whenever a bird feather crosses my path, I pick it up and connect with its bird spirit. If appropriate, I may place it on the alter to strengthen the messages from the spirit world.
• Singing Bowl. Music and sound vibrations help set the tone and charge the atmosphere in anticipation of a magical ritual such as the card reading. My favorite is the Crystal Singing Bowl for Heart Chakra. I like to open my reading sessions with the vibrations of the heart singing bowl.

Incantation.

The power of the words is strong, so use it appropriately in everything you do. You may adopt the following incantation if you like. Say it out loud or silently in your mind while shuffling the Tarot cards:

My truthful cards with playful suits, I ask that you be fair and cast away [My or Seeker’s] fear.

I ask that you do not play tricks nor cheat, but rather tell me all as is.

I conjure thee to divine the truth, thus blend my powers with these suits.
