Amethyst

Amethyst, a purple quartz, is an excellent crystal that goes hand in hand with any psychic practices. If I had to choose only one crystal to own, I would choose amethyst. Amethyst is steeped in ancient magick. It is, perhaps, as popular today as it was thousands of years ago. Its energy is receptive, and it is associated with the element of water. Amethyst’s ruling planets are Jupiter and Neptun.

Amethyst’s powers: Dreams, overcoming alcoholism, healing, psychism, peace, love, protection against thieves, courage, and happiness.

A spiritual stone, with absolutely no negative side effects, the amethyst can be placed under pillow to produce peaceful prophetic dreams.

A piece set before a white candle and a soothing, high vibrational incense, such as sandalwood, is conductive to meditating and divination practices. Have a light purple candle burning and ring the candle with amethysts to sharpen the “sixth sense”. Keep an amethyst with your oracle or tarot cards to heighten their inner energies. Green Jasper

Jasper is a common stone, an opaque variety of all chalcedonies, which is a form of quartz. Found in a wide range of colors – red, brown, and green being quite common – it has been used in magick since the earliest times. In ancient Egypt, a green jasper engraved with the image of a dragon surrounded by rays was worn to strengthen digestive tract.

Generally, jasper is worn or carried to promote mental processes and to restrain dangerous desires or whims that could lead to hazardous situations. It is also a protective stone against both physical and nonphysical hazards.

Green jasper has receptive energy. It is ruled by planet Venus, and it represents an earth element. This is a healing amulet and health talisman. Ring green candles with green Jasper to promote the body’s healing or to ward off ill-health. Place it under pillow to promote restful sleep. It is also worn to become more sympathetic to others’ emotional and mental states. *

Citrine’s energy is projective. It is ruled by the Sun, and it represents an element of fire. Citrine’s powers are anti-nightmare, protection, and psychism.

Black Tourmaline

Tourmaline was unknown to ancient magicians and is today still a little used in magick, though its popularity is increasing. Tourmaline is a unique stone in many ways. It is transparent when viewed from the side of the crystal, opaque, from either end. When heated or rubbed to create friction, it polarizes; that is, one end will become positive and attract ashes or light straws, the other, negative.

Black Tourmalines energy is receptive. It is ruled by planet Saturn, and it is associated with the earth element. Usually too brittle for jewelry, black tourmaline is seldom commercially available. It is used for grounding purposes and to represent the earth in spell relating to that element. It is also protective, for it absorbs negativity when charged for that purpose via visualization. *
